I enjoy working with astrology as kindling and container for consciousness. Astrology is a mirror and a lantern - reflecting and illuminating the journey. This week I was struggling with a level of fatigue that is unprecedented for me. While there is plenty to feel burdened and overwhelmed by - multiple genocides, climate collapse, friends and students struggling with physical and mental health - there was nothing concretely different about my day to day stress level that would have brought about such exhaustion.
Unless I was sick. The symptoms crescendoed toward the end of the week, so I decided to get checked out on the physical level. Other than an irregular heartbeat, nothing seemed to be amiss. Yet, I was shaking, clammy, and experiencing tingling throughout my body. I had been following the transits for the week, both collective and specific to my natal placements, but still, as of Thursday, I was not conscious of a particular interference that would evoke such a physical response.
It just so happened I was joining a Centaur healing group on Thursday afternoon, facilitated by Jenny Kellogg of Amalthea Coaching and David Leskowitz of The Centaur Space. That's when I decided to trace the Centaurs in their current positions relative to my natal chart. I was aware that Mars in Sagittarius was in a square with Nessus in Pisces. It just so happens that Nessus was also exactly conjunct natal Mercury and natal Okyrhoe, forming a t-square with natal Saturn/Vesta and transit Mars. If Mars in Sagittarius square Nessus in Pisces was flooding the collective with ancestral trauma, then on a personal level, I was ripe to receive all kinds of ripple effects of this communication. Furthermore, since that Nessus/Mercury/Okyrhoe traffic jam was in my 6th house, the effects were likely to impact my health!
Once I became conscious of the entities at the crossroads, I was able to directly address and confront the Ancestors with whom I seemed to be encountering an energetic bleed. I said out loud that while I was in agreement with my role of intercepting the family patterns, I was no longer in agreement with processing in my body the effects of decisions they had made prior to my existence. I asked them to process their own karma!
Within five minutes, the symptoms dissipated. The fatigue is gone. My energy has returned. It is interesting to me that even though I was aware of the South Node transit to natal Uranus, bringing to my attention this theme of releasing ancestral trauma that showed up in codependent relational patterns, it wasn't until I became conscious of Nessus prancing on the actual line of communication, that I was able to name the issue and speak to it directly.
Astrology is powerful medicine. I continue to be in awe of its aesthetic symmetry and pragmatic application.
